How to download Twitter / X pictures
- 1Open the post with the pictures on X (Twitter) and copy its URL from the address bar, or tap the share icon and choose Copy link.
- 2Paste the URL into the field above and click Get Photos.
- 3Every image in the post appears with its dimensions. Click Download on each one you want to keep.
Saving a picture with right-click gives you the resized copy X shows in the timeline. This tool asks for the original upload instead, so you get the full-resolution file the poster actually shared. If the post holds a video or a GIF rather than a still image, use the Twitter video downloader or the Twitter GIF downloader instead.

Is this Twitter photo downloader free?
Yes — completely free. No account required, no watermarks, and no limit on how many posts you can save.
Does it download the full-resolution image?
Yes. Twitter serves a resized copy of every image in the timeline, so saving with right-click gives you a shrunken version. This tool requests the original upload instead, which is the same file the poster put on X — usually much larger and sharper than what you see on screen.
Can I download all four images from one post?
Yes. A post can hold up to four images, and every one of them appears as a separate download. Each file is named after its media key so the four do not overwrite each other in your downloads folder.
Why does it say my post contains video, not photos?
Some posts mix media types. This tool only extracts still images — if the post holds a video or a GIF, use our Twitter Video Downloader or Twitter GIF Downloader instead. When a post carries both a video and photos, the photos are still returned here.
Why does it not work for some posts?
The tool only reads public posts. Protected or private accounts, deleted posts, and posts with no image at all cannot be fetched. Check that the post opens in a logged-out browser before reporting a problem.
Do you store the images I download?
No. The image is streamed straight from the Twitter CDN through to your browser and is never written to our servers. We do not keep a copy, and we do not log the URLs you paste.
Is there a download limit?
Rate limits apply to keep the tool fast for everyone — currently 10 requests per minute. If you hit the limit, wait a minute and try again.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes. It works in any modern mobile browser. On iOS, tapping Download saves the image through the browser download flow, and you can then move it to Photos from the Files app.
